Inquisitor Sand dan Glokta by Observateur Inquisitor Sand dan Glokta by Observateur
Confessions...

looks quite mental, but he probably is. a sane kind of mental.
didn´t even try to decide who is good and who evil while reading those tree books. i think its more like who is more evil than the others... one of the few realistic (disgustingly realistic), faszinating books of the fantasy genre. with a very dark cynical sense of humor...

(Book One: The First Law, "The Blade Itself" by Joe Abercrombie)

Isn't Glokta supposed to have short, speckled-grey hair? I'm surprised you didn't leap at the chance to show his mangled teeth either. But for the fact that he looks like a happy Snape, well done, I like the Ed Gorey-esque shading.

oh I belive you are right about the hair, i do not remember...
i did not leap at the chance because its hard work to draw missing teeth. probably you know that the whole strukture of the jaw kind of degenerates if you lose several teeth... it was easier for me to leave him this way. nevertheless i like his expression.

I suppose, however, if you titled this piece ';Practical Severard' it would be a PERFECT rendition.

yay!
Just discovered and read these books, and I was thinking I wouldn't find any fanart..until now ;)Glokta was by far by favorite character.

I love how the blood in this is the only bit of color--very effective touch!

Why, why do I do this?

Glokta really was a most fascinating character to read about!

Best series ever in my Opinion. The way life goes is so simple in the eyes of this man. Click. Tap. Pain.

no, you aren´t. he´s a good writer. fantasy keeps repeating itself (dark lords, prophecies, heroes,...) and i like reading a new story.

Wow, nice piece!

I found Joe Abercrombie's books by accident and Glokta is now my favorite. He's an interesting character, to say the very least. X]

At last another Joe Abercrombie fan on this site. I'm just reading the last installment 'The Last Argument of Kings' at the mo. I can't put the bleeding book down.

Anyhow nice Glotka, its not how imagine him, but still a good job. I dare say I may start to do First Law pictures myself. Maybe - Nine Fingers or Jezal.

Just finished it. Bayaz is a real bastard at the end, Logen is really pure Evil, Jezal is a prize prat and Glotka turns out to be the good guy. Strange ending, but I loved it - Can't wait till "Better Served Cold".

I'm gonna start drawing something, this weekend!!

very fitting ending.
but is there really a good guy at all? i think not. glokta certainly doesn´t count. he IS a monster even if he does some good now and than. (he saved ardee and he has some kind of remaining conscience but he doesn´t care much about it. he even became more sadistic in the end.)
and Jezal. i really feel a little sorry for him. he tried hard to do his best but lost against people who were more ...err.. straightforward than he.
logen is a mystery.
i doubt one would come far trying to destinquish good from evil. thats why i love those books.
so. enough raping english grammar for today.

be creative!
